emmy 2010: final thoughts on 2010 season & this year's show

emmy 2010: my take on this year's show.

- showtime breaks it's record for wins. I've been following this for years. 7 wins, more series wins than HBO. Great product = recognition.

- the amount of first timers! So refreshing!

- do tapes matter? Yes: Kyra Sedgwick. No: Archie Panjabi.

- most thrilled about Stonestreet, Panjabi, Paul.

- is Tina Fey the hottest, funniest, nicest person in Hollywood?

- opening number was excellent. Actually, the show itself was great. Fast-paced, funny, great mix of presenters, and mostly agreeable winners. My only gripe was front-stacking the show with the more interesting categories. Was this so our TV faves wouldn't be played off as much?

- biggest shock: Top Chef dethrones Amazing Race!

- will The Daily Show ever lose? And in such an amazing landmark year for variety series.

- Bryan Cranston wins his third consecutive Emmy in the toughest category maybe ever. Very happy for him, but felt a little sorry for the other deserving guys.

- I don't know too much about this, but my best dressed was Julie Benz. Wow...
